Day 2- #1 朝のおいなりさん – Oinari-san in the morning sunshine

>>伏見稲荷大社 - Fushimi Inai Taisha  ☆☆☆☆

奈良に向かう前にホテルから歩いて伏見稲荷大社へ。
訪れるのは2回目ですが、今回は千本鳥居のところまで。
既に海外からの観光客の姿がちらほらありましたが、

早朝の境内は空気が澄んで気持ち良いですな~
これらの赤い鳥居、現在は約1万基あるそう。壮観です。
連なる鳥居の下を歩くと異次元にトリップしてしまいそうな雰囲気。

On my way to Nara, I dropped by Fushimi Inari in the early morning.
The shrine is spreading on the mountain slope.
It was my second visit and not tried climbing up to the top for this time but just went through under “a thousand Torii*” in the middle of the ground of the shrine. (*Torii means shrine gates.)

I met several travelers from overseas but enjoyed the serene hush in the morning fresh air.
I felt as if I had almost tripped into another world, walking the path lined with thousands of red Torii and it's spectacular view. They said now there are approx. 10,000 of Torii in Fushimi Inari.

そうそう、面白いと思ったのが、表示板にあった駅名のふりがなJR – 「じぇいあーる」 って何だかかわいい。
ちなみに、"JR"がつく駅名表記はJR西日本独自のもので、他のJRグループ各社には見られないそう。

I found an interesting “running in board” or large sign showing the name of the railway station.
The reading of “JR” is shown in "hiragana Japanese" and it’s kind of a funny discovery for me from eastern part of Japan. We don't see any signs describing the reading in "hiragana" for "JR" -Roman characters at any stations in east Japan.
