Day 1- #3 相国寺承天閣美術館 –Shotenkaku museum of Shokoku Temple

Jakuchu Ito Exhibition ☆☆☆☆

(Google map

One of main purposes of my visit to Kyoto for this time was this exhibition.

Well, it took almost 30 mins from the closest bus stop in Google map… I lost and asked 5 people to get Shokoku Temple finally - Actually it is very close to Doshisha University.

I was so happy to appreciate closely Jakuchu’s ink brush paintings on the Japanese sliding doors in Kinkaku-ji.

I love his crane paintings which are very impressive drawn only by black ink (sumi).  His art works are just like sophisticated modern graphic design.

I also smiled at his charming tiger.

Shotenkaku museum is a very attractive place to visit.  You need to take shoes off and enjoy thick & nice carpet on the floor and can relax yourself.
