節分 - SETSUBUN Day

話が前後しますが、、、
2/3は節分。
最近、関東でも恵方巻きが定着しましたねぇ。
コンビニ業界の仕掛けだと知っていても
今年もいただきました恵方巻き。
今年の吉報位は東北東だそうで。
Feb 3rd was SETSUBUN in Japan.
So I bought a Eho-Maki @ a convenience store along with roasted soybeans.

（コンビニで買ってきたまま食べるのも忍びないので一応、お皿に載せてみる。なんかヴィジュアル変だな。）窓の方に向いてお茶も飲まずに一気にもぐもぐ。

Well, I ate up "Eho-Maki" facing on the windows of my room without resting nor drinking something, they said East-Northeast should be a fortunate direction for this year.

タンパク質が足りなさそうなので、
豆まき用のマメもいただきました（香ばしくて好き♥）
I love roasted soybeans because they are yummy.

ナチュラルなケーキ - A cake baked without eggs, milk & sugar

今年のバレンタインに焼いたケーキ。
チョコのはいつもの定番のだけど、
クリがのっているのは新しいレシピのもので
「マロンアールグレイパウンド」ケーキ。
全粒粉、薄力粉、ベーキングパウダー、塩、アールグレイの茶葉、豆乳、ひまわりオイル、メープルシロップ、栗（渋皮付き＆むき栗）でできてます。
本来のレシピでははちみつを使うのだけど、メープルシロップにしてみました。
卵なし、牛乳なし、砂糖なしのレシピでも、優しい甘みで美味しくできちゃったー！

I baked 2 types of cakes for Valentine's day.
I often bake the chocolate cakes but for this time, I tried a new recipe of "Chestnuts &　Earl Grey Tea Cake" without using egg, milk & sugar.
The ingredients are whole wheat flour, weak flour, baking powder, salt, Earl Grey Tea leaves, soy milk, sunflower oil, maple syrup (instead of "honey" in the original recipe), chestnuts (2 types- with & without astringent skin) only.
I love the natural taste and it was really nice.

やっぱり素敵、代官山 - I still love Daikanyama

1月最後の月曜日は年休取って久々の代官山。
会社の友人と散策しながらお買い物。
カフェでおしゃべりしてディナーして、
お洒落な街をめいっぱい楽しんだのでありました。
学生時代から大好きだったなー、代官山。
よくぶらついたものです。

I took 1 day OFF on the last Monday in January & went to Daikanyama after a long interval.  I & my colleague really enjoyed a walk & shopping, also having a chat at cafes & dinner in that fashionable town.  
I often used to stroll around Daikanyama when I was a student.

裏通りにあった日本家屋や古い建物をリノベしたショップが風景の中で活きています。
I was impressed to find shops in old Japanese - modern western mixed style on back streets.

イマドキの餃子店で夜ゴハン。
最近流行りのお洒落な餃子のお店ではワインやシャンパンと一緒に楽しんじゃうわけです。
Stylish Gyoza restaurants are popular now and we can enjoy it with wine or champagne.

大人のたまごサンド - Yummy Egg Sandwiches for adults

ただのたまごサンドと思うなかれ、
トリュフ風味なのだー　うっまー♪♪
柔らかめのゆで卵、少なめのマヨネーズ、天然塩、
挽きたて黒胡椒に
代官山のVOM FASS（フォムフォス）で買ったエキストラバージンオリーブオイル・トリュフが入っているのだー。

They are not just egg sandwiches but have fascinating rich Truffle flavor. Sooo yummy!! 
I made them with 2 soft boiled eggs, little mayonnaise, natural salt, freshly-ground black peppers & then this,
"Extra Virgin Olive Oil Truffle" - I bought at VOM FASS in Daikanyama.

VOM FASS（フォムフォス）はドイツスタイルの量り売りのショップで、オイル、ビネガー、リキュールと種類も本当に豊富！
試食（飲）させてもらえます。
どれも美味しくて、本当に迷うことこの上なし、でした。
オリーブオイルだけでも何種類あることか。。。
しかも、ボトルも選ぶのです（これでまた迷う訳です）。
そのボトルの中に大きな壺や大きなフラスコ瓶から、
必要な分量を注いでもらうのも魅惑的。
美人店員さんが美しい字で中身をボトルに表記してくれました。
洗って持参すれば次回も同じボトルに入れてもらえるそう。

VOM FASS sell oils, vinegars & spirits by measure in German style.  So many big jars & pots line up in their shop and we could not select right away even after tasting several times as all of them really taste good - Even olive oils, they have many kinds.
We also need to pick up a bottle from many designs.
They funnel the oil/vinegar/spirit into the bottle you chose as much as you need. It's so exciting!
On that day, a beautiful lady at the shop wrote down about the content on the bottle by beautiful handwriting for us.
You can reuse it if you bring the vacant bottle after washing to the shop again.




　

大雪の後 - After the heavy snow

大雪の翌日、晴れの朝の風景　
Scenery in the next morning with sunshine after the heavy snow.

近所の神社。誰かが雪かきした風景に胸が打たれる。

Somebody removed the snow in the area of a small shrine near my place.  I was touched by this sight.

職人ワザ！ - Craftsmanship in Japan

ヴィトンのタンブールのこのモデルは生産中止。
5年位探していたけど、替えのベルトもブティックに残っている在庫の派手派手しいものだけで、気に入るものはみつからず、ベルトはますますボロボロな状態に。
そこで見つけたのが、時計ベルトのオーダーメイドをしてくれるこちらのお店  いのうえ　(博多にあります）

大雪の日に届いたものは、新しいベルトをまとったお気に入りの時計でした。
見事に仕上げられたベルトを見ていると、日本の職人さんの技のすごさが良くわかります。
私はチョコレート色のカーフでお願いしました。
（電池交換もしていただいて￥33,600でした。）
オーダー内容をリクエストすると見積もりを出してもらえます。


This model of wristwatches by Louis Vuitton stopped production.
I had been looking for a new suitable belt about for 5 years but no success, though I checked their boutiques when I traveled abroad.
Finally, I found a shop which sells wristwatch leather belts & receives an order of custom-made; INOUE (in Hakata) 
I ordered to make it by chocolate-colored calf leather and it cost me 33,600JPY including battery change.

This was the thing delivered carefully on the day with such a heavy snow.   I love this new belt to find respectful
craftsmanship everywhere & will continue to use my favorite watch with care.  

雪にも負けず - Not losing to the Snow

２月８日、東京も記録的な雪。
It was very cold and we had a record amount of snow also in Tokyo on Feb 8th.

I was worried about the Rosemary...

そんな日に、時間指定にしていた宅急便が時間通りに到着。

凍えて震える手で配達してくれた佐川急便のドライバーの方に感謝です！
In the heavy snow, the express home delivery arrived at a specified time without delay.  The driver handed me a parcel by shaking hands with cold and I appreciated his & his company's (SAGAWA Express) efforts.

一目惚れがま口バッグ - Lovely GAMAGUCHI bag

新宿高島屋で期間限定で出店されていた京都のショップBel Regalo(べる れがあろ）。オレンジのシマウマ柄のがま口バッグに一目惚れ。

軽いし、本革紐と真鍮色の金具も素敵です。マチの膨らみ加減も絶妙。
職人さんがひとつひとつ手作りで作っているそうなのです。
さすが、日本の職人さん！縫製も丁寧で、内側に２つポケット付きもうれしい。
