ローズボックス - A Rose Box

12月の第２週末、久しぶりにクレイクラフトを楽しみました。
日頃お世話になっている友人にバラ作りを体験してもらい、
無事、素敵なバラのアレンジメントが完成しました！
一足早いクリスマスプレゼントになって良かったです。
人に教えるというのは初めてでしたが、
コツを押さえた上で、
自由にバラを作ることを楽しんでもらうことを目指しました。
彼女に作り方を教えながら、
私はパリの友人にクリスマスギフトを制作。
ボックスの中に、バラとジャスミンをアレンジ。
Small Packetで送付したものの、無事届くか心配でしたが、
6日後に壊れることもなく彼女のアパートメントに届いたそうです。
とっても喜んでもらえて、私も本当にうれしい！
青いバラの花言葉は「奇跡」
人種や言葉、バックグラウンドが違っても、距離が遠くても、
つながる絆ってあるのですね。

I enjoyed making clay crafts with my friend at the 2^nd weekend of December.

I gave a trial lesson how to make roses and she created 3 beautiful roses at last.

It’s very first time for me to teach somebody to make clay flowers and just tried to make her enjoy clay, rather than sticking into the discipline.

I created a box filled with roses & jasmine flowers as a Christmas gift to my friend in Paris.

I had been worried whether it could arrive safely but she wrote to me it arrived very well in 6 days after I dispatched the small packet.

Great!!  She loves my work and it makes me happy.

They say a blue rose means “miracle” in the language of flowers and I made all flowers thinking about her and our friendship even if there is a long distance between us.

オレンジ色のレポートⅢ - Orange colors Ⅲ

12月第2週の週末、まだまだもみじの狩りを楽しめました。
朝市では、オーガニックの野菜や果物をゲット。
(量が多いので友人と分け合いました)
皮ごと食べれるミカンに、葉つきのにんじん、しょうが、

大きなサツマイモ、黒米…
お店のひとのお話聞きながら楽しく買い物できて、

美味しくて、安心で身体にも良くって、

さらに、コスパも良いなんてサイコー！
料理するのも楽しくなっちゃいます。

まず、既に家に3本もあったニンジンをどうしましょう。

ニンジンたっぷり、濃厚ポタージュを作ることにしました。

たまねぎ、ローリエ、天然塩、生味噌、白胡椒、

オーガニックヴァージンオリーブオイルだけで味付け。

超、美味！

普通のみかんの30倍ビタミンCがあるとお店のひとが言っていた
有機栽培完熟木なりミカンの皮は、ゆずとてんさい糖、しょうがと梅酒少々でマーマレードに。
ま、おしゃれに言えばコンフィチュールってやつですな。

のどのイガイガにとっても◎です。

The second week this December was still good day to enjoy watching the autumn tints at a park in the central Tokyo.

We went to a morning market in the park and got some good vegetables & etc.
It’s so fun to buy safe, tasty things good for your health and all of them have great cost performance, compared with ordinary super markets in towns.
I can raise motivation for cooking in front of selected ingredients.
But at first, I had to cook up 3 big carrots already I had got. So I made yummy carrot potage soup with onion, seasoning with a little miso, natural salt, bay leaf & organic virgin olive oil.
Also, marmalade is great, made from peels of organic oranges I got at the market & yuzu, beet sugar, a small amount of ginger and ume liquor.
It’s so good for sore throat.

わんにゃんに癒されるの巻き - Dog & Cat

にゃんことわんこと暮らしている友人宅へお邪魔。
このコ達、決して大の仲良しではなさそうですが、
一緒にお出迎えしてくれました。

（その後一緒に行動する姿はお目にかからず）

いやー、すっかり癒されてしまいました♡

I visited my friend's place and met her lovely room mates, a dog & cat.

It looked they are not so close each other but both of them welcomed me at the same time when I stepped into the living room.  They are so cute and I was completely healed spending time with them.

ちなみにこのアヴァンギャルドな陶芸作品の数々は、友人作。

これも、すごい才能ですわね。

秋の深大寺 - Jindaiji

11月最後の週末に深大寺へ。
新そばの10割そばを食し、
お隣の神代植物公園をのんびり散策。
穏やかに晴れ上がって暖かなお散歩日和でした。
奇しくも、水木しげるさんがお亡くなりになった日でもありました。

I went to Jindaiji at the last weekend of November and enjoyed new crop soba(Japanese noodle), then walked in the Jindai botanical garden.  It's a lovely day with warm sunshine.

お手製料理で癒されるの巻 - Homemade meals make you happy & warm

途中から雨になったピクニックのリベンジ。
友人のお手製のレバーペースト
(今回のお供は、カタネベーカリーのパン！)、
フレッシュフルーツいっぱいのサングリアゼリー、
しみじみ美味しかったなー。
私は、野菜たっぷりのラザニアと
大根サラダ(withオーガニックドライトマト、黒オリーブ、
レモンオリーブオイル)を作りました。

美味しいゴハンに癒された我々は
青空と紅葉の下、平和についても自然に語り合うことに。
平和ビジネスが儲かれば武器商人がいなくなるんじゃ？ とか、
武器を一瞬にして役立たずにしてしまうスプレー、
爆弾でもびくともしない、
アジトをすっぽり封じ込める風船みたいな膜があれば、 etc.. 
実現化されないでしょうか？（ドラエもーん！）
現実的には、世界中の子供達が「世界は広くて多様性に満ち溢れている」ことも学べる
場や機会があればいいのに、と思います。

We went to a Picnic again as giving up in the middle because of the rain before.

My friend cooked and brought some liver paste, perfectly good for bread of Katane Bakery & sangria jelly.
They were really nice.
I brought lasagna cooked with a lot of vegetables & chicken and radish salad with organic dried tomatoes, black olives & lemon olive oil.

We were completely healed by good homemade meal and also chatted about “peace” under tinted leaves & the blue sky.
If peace maker business could make a vast of money, instead of arms dealing, no arms dealer would exist anymore.
Aerosols which can disarm any weapons in an instant, without harming humans.
Dropping something like a film from the sky and it swells like a balloon & wraps a criminal’s hideout up thoroughly - bomb-proof …etc. 

Well, we definitely need DORAEMON!

To be serious, we think the education is the most important where every kid can also learn about diversity and understand the world we are living is much wider than we think.

迷える子羊くんの友人が遊びに来たときは、温かいポトフをふるまいました。
滋味深くて優しい味は、人の心も温めることができちゃうみたいです。

I cooked potful lunch for my friend as she was feeling blue a bit.
Hot & tasty food can make warm up someone’s heart either.

小さな美術館 - Small art museums in Tokyo

I found small but very nice 2 museums in the same area of Tokyo, thanks to an organizer of a meetup in November.
I say these kinds of small museums are the best to visit aimlessly when you are reluctant to go somewhere very crowded.
You can walk to the another museum as they are close.

More fashionable than Kimono we see nowadays.
We would love to wear them if we had.

Fascinated by his ceramic works like scenes of beautiful picture books, feeling winds far from somewhere in foreign lands.
The museum itself and exhibition style are very beautiful and there is a fabulous restaurant beside a Japanese garden in the museum.

今迄訪れたことがない美術館を1日で2か所回りました。
こういうこじんまりした美術館は、

大勢の人で込み合うところに行く気力がない時、
ふらっと訪れるのに良いですね。
オーガナイザーに感謝です！

２つは美術館は近いので歩いて行けちゃいます。

とっても素敵な空間でした。
展示もシンプルながら品良く趣向が凝らしてあって楽しめました。
日本庭園を眺めることができる館内のレストランも、

クリスマスに思いをはせた日 - Thinking about the Christmas season

I joined one of annual Christmas charity events at the office and helped to wrap many gifts up and decorate cards beautifully.
We were preparing those as presents to children in the hospitals away from their family at the Christmas season.

会社のクリスマスチャリティイベントに参加して、ギフトのラッピングやカードの作成をお手伝い。
病院にいて家族とクリスマスを過ごすことのできない子どもたちにプレゼントとカードを贈ります。

私のギフト。ミニオンズに似合うラッピングをしてみました。

I wrapped my gift up like Minions’ colors. Hope one of kids like it.

カードのデコも楽しかったです(文字はフランス人ヘッドによるものです)。

I also enjoyed decoration of the message cards 

(those are by one of our heads.  He is French).

オレンジ色のレポートⅡ - Orange colors Ⅱ

両親が新居に遊びに来た時に、大きな柿２つもらっちゃった。
（また。。。）

さて、このオレンジ色のかぼちゃ、ふるさと納税で安曇野市から
御礼として届いた特産品ボックスに入っていたもの。

バターナッツといいまして、ひょうたんみたいな形してます。
「あれ？種がない！」
と思ったら、、、

下のふくらんだところにちゃんとぎっしり入ってました。
意外と、ねっとり感がなかったので、
生クリームとバター、メープルシロップ、ラム酒と合わせて
かぼちゃケーキにしてみました。

I got 2 big persimmons (again!) from my Mom…

BTW, this pale orange vegitable in a strange shape is a pumpkin, called “Butternut”
I got it from Azumino-city as their gratitude for my paying tax via a hometown tax payment program, in which tax payers pay part of their local taxes to localities of our choice in Japan.

They sent me a box filled with local food & vegetables.
When I cut it at first, there were no seeds at all but…
It was not so sweet, so I put some fresh cream, butter, maple syrup and a little dark rum and baked a lot of cakes.

さて、紅葉が遅れている都心でも、ようやく秋のオレンジ色が多くなってきました。
Leaves are turning orange at last in the central Tokyo. This year autumn tints are coming more slowly than usual.

秋のハモ鍋とスーパームーン – Under the light of the super moon

世界の何処で誰が見ても美しいお月様。

世界が平和でありますように思わず祈りたくなります。

この日10月27日は、スーパームーンでお月様が怪しくも大きく光る夜だったのでした。

A beautiful moon is always there, looking down on us even if the weather is bad or we are in a conflict.
We can see the same moon from anywhere in this world, without depending religion, nationality & people, but only with some time difference.
Praying for world peace NOW.

大好きな鱧を鍋でいただけるなんて。しかもですよ、
夏のハモとは違って、こうだそうです↓
鱧には旬の時期が二つある。
「梅雨の水を飲んで育つ」と言われるサッパリした味の夏のハモ。
また、産卵を終えて食欲が増し、脂も乗り、味にコシが出てきて「名残りハモ」や「金ハモ」などと呼ばれる冬のハモ。
ああ、美味でした。

そう、平和だからこそ、こうやって楽しめる訳なのですよね。

I love Hamo(a kind of sea eels?) and tasted a hot pod with Hamo with my colleagues.
It was first time to enjoy Hamo in autumn; we often eat them in summer.
I didn’t know but they said they are oilier and their flavor is more intense in autumn & winter seasons.
And YES, it was so delicious!!

Also we enjoyed the extraordinary night sky on Oct 27 - watching a super moon, looked larger and shining brighter than usual.

水難の相、のち笑顔 – Smile after water trouble

引っ越し先のシンクが水漏れ。
ようやくシステムキッチン取り替え工事の日を迎えた
と思ったら、
それ、「シンクの位置違いますけど？」と
このワタシ自身から指摘するハメに。
バラバラに解体されたパーツを再度組立て、
また翌週の土曜日早朝に改めての工事と、相成りました。。。

思い返せば、初めて一人暮らしをした新築マンションでは、
水道管施工ミスで下の部屋に水漏れという事件があったなー、と。
ま、今回は部屋の床を全部剥がすわけではないから、いいかー、と
やけに馴れ馴れしい水道屋さんのうちのひとりに苦笑しつつ
遠い目になっていたら、友人より励ましのメール。
お土産で仙台の名産品を買ってきてくれました。
ありがとう♡

It’s a long story until my kitchen was nicely done out - it turned out there was a water leakage in the kitchen sink on the very first day at my new apartment and 3 cabinets for the system kitchen had to be replaced.

3 weeks later, on an early Saturday morning, 2 plumbers came at last. I cannot believe this but I was the one who pointed out the sink & cabinets were wrong. Well, it was obvious the sink they brought could not receive any water down from the taps & fixture water supply pipes. So they came again next Saturday morning. I dare not count how many hours on lovely weekends were wasted but try to think I am lucky because I have a new & clean system kitchen NOW, anyway.

To put an annoying over-familiar plumber away, I chatted with my friend by iPhone and she cheered me up in spite of vacation in her hometown.

She brought back local lasting souvenirs, excellent Sasa-Kamaboko(bamboo-leaf-shaped boiled fish paste) & jam, which are produced there.
The most tasty Sasa-Kama I have ever had!
No artificial ingredients nor starch as a thickening but fish meat & natural seasonings only, produced by traditional way from the old days.
They even have a Sasa-Kama museum in their modern factory now – the place I want to visit when I have a chance to go to Sendai.
SURIMI (Kani-Kamaboko) are popular in abroad now but, they should also try Sasa-Kama!

大人ピクニック – Picnic with tasty food

365日とルヴァンのパン などなど
秋のピクニックは突然の雨で早めに切り上げることに。
でも、雨の公園もいいもの。色が深まって、木々からの匂いが強くなります。
11月の第1週末の代々木公園、紅葉も始まっています。

なくしてしまったもの、新しく得たもの、変わらずにあるもの。
いろいろ胸によぎりながら、秋の深まりを感じる午後でした。

さて、初のアステリスクのケーキ！
甘さ控えめなのに、スイーツに求められているものがちゃんと詰まってて、一口目で確実に幸せになります。

We went to a picnic at Yoyogi park. 
Yummy deli food by Park Hyatt, breads by 365jours & Levain, and etc.
Suddenly rain fell down but we loved the park in the autumn rain as all the colors became more vivid.
We could enjoy fresh scent of the trees & wild bush on our way back to my place.
Leaves just started to turn red & yellow in the central Tokyo at the 1st weekend of November.

The things I lost & newly got in my life and happiness to find unchanged things around me.
My heart was filled with many feelings as time goes by this autumn.

We also enjoyed sweets of “Asterisque”, a famous patisserie in Yoyogi-uehara.
Not too sweet but they have everything we are expecting of sweets and definitely make you happy at a first bite.

秋深まるオレンジ色 – Orange colors, autumn is deepening now

街はハロウィーンモード。あちらこちらがオレンジ色です。

ご近所のパン屋さんの前を通りかかったら、
ディスプレイしていた柿くれました。
「いります？近所で取ってきたんですよ。はい、もう１コ。あ、シブかったら、ヘタ切って、切り口下に向けて焼酎に漬けて下さい」
「あ、焼酎ないんですけど。。。」
「お酒なら何でも大丈夫」
と言う訳で、30秒後には私の手の平には柿ふたつ。
(家に柿、あと３コもあるとは言えず。6コ入り買っちゃってたの。)
折角なので有り難くいただくことにしました。
秋深し、よく柿喰うワタシ。。。
その日の夜は、無農薬のカブと柿のサラダ仕立てにしてみました。美味！

東京都心の木々が本格的にオレンジ色になっていくのはこれから。

Halloween has recently gotten popular in Japan and we can see many big orange pumpkins & jack-o'-lanterns and you can see many orange colors in towns in October.

When I passed by in front of the bakery in my neighborhood, a shop staff picked up persimmons from the shop display and gave me 2 of them.
She kindly explained where they came from and how to sweeten if they are astringent persimmons, using “Shochu(white liquor)” to remove the astringency from them. You need to cut stem (including upper side of the body) and put it down and soak the cut end into Shochu.
I almost hesitated as I have no Shochu and … but she said any alcohol should be OK.
Well, I could not say I had 3 more persimmons in my kitchen after already eating 3, but thanked her with a big smile.
I am the persimmon eater this autumn.
I made a salad with a persimmon & organic turnips at that night. It’s really good.

Trees in the central Tokyo are not so tinted in orange yet but deep autumn and then early winter is coming soon.

全て新しい毎日 ‐ All-NEW Days

10月頭に引っ越しして、もう少しで早1か月。
思えば6月からずっと、とても忙しかった日々。
怖い思いもたくさんしました。
そして急な引っ越し。
疲れ切った身体もココロも、
たくさんの温かいメッセージと、たっぷりの睡眠のおかげで
すっかり元気に、生まれ変われた気がします。

新しい部屋、新しい風景、新しい街から聞こえる音。
ご近所のお気に入りの自家製天然酵母パン屋さん、

素敵な凄腕ヘアサロン、
使えるスーパーにオーガニック野菜が美味しいお店。
氏神様の神社にもご挨拶済んで
心地良い部屋づくりも順調です。

お隣の部屋におせんべ持参で挨拶に行ったら、、、
10頭身位のアメリカ人と思われる美少女が出てきてびっくり！

道の真ん中でどいてくれないご近所のネコ

It’s been almost a month since I moved into a new apartment.
I had been very busy since June and exhausted without noticing.  Thanks to my dear friends cheered me up and lots of sleep after moving, now I feel reborn, said goodbye to scary things ..

My new room, new scenery around me, new sounds from the town, all which I am enjoying every minute. I found a very nice boulangerie in my neighborhood, fabulous hair salon, organic food shop and useful supermarkets. I’m happy that I went to a historical shrine to say hello to the local deity and making my place comfortable & satisfactory step by step.

BTW, when I went to the next door neighbor's place to introduce myself with rice crackers, I was surprised to know the girl next door is very beautiful like a fashion model - I suppose she is American. 

(Generally, it's customary to give your new neighbors small gifts when you move house in Japan.)

只今お引っ越し中 - Moving Out

たくさん書きたいことがあったのですが、

急遽、お引越しすることに！３週間前に決まりました。

ひゃー

２週間、段ボールに埋もれた日々も明日で終わり。

新しい生活の始まりです！！

新居は大きな公園の近くなので、お散歩やピクニックをもっと楽しんでしまおう、っと。

得意の居心地の良い住空間づくりも、楽しみながらがんばります。

I wanted to post on my blog about many things but decided to move to a new apartment near a big park just 3 weeks ago.

Ooh!!  

I am living among piles of boxes in my room but can move out and will start a new & different life tomorrow.

I can’t wait to enjoy walking and picnic in the park.

Also I will try to make my place cozy & comfortable, that is my favorite thing to do.

出勤途中に新宿中央公園でゴジラ発見！

サンドアートでした。すごい～！！

新宿クリエイターズフェスタ2015に出品作品のひとつでした。

I found the Godzilla in the Shinjuku central park during my way to the office.

It's a amazing sculpture by sand and one of the works of Shinjuku Creators Festa 2015.

WE♡どぜう - We love DOJO

8月半ばに、暑気払いも兼ねて久しぶりに念願の駒形どぜう！
ぬるかんもいいカンジで、
江戸時代からの名店のどぜう鍋を満喫。
今までで一番美味しく感じました。
ねぎとごぼうと一緒に、たっくさん、いただきました♡
苦手なひとも多いようけど、
本物のどぜう鍋の美味しさを知ってもらいたいなー

We went to an old traditional Japanese style restaurant from Edo period, "Komagawa Dozeu" in Asakusa that serves Japanese food called "Dojo nabe - dojo loaches cooked in a hot pot" in mid-August.
I had been longing to visit this restaurant again and was so happy I could enjoy this specialty with someone special.
It's amazing to taste it with "nurukan - we Japanse drink sake even in the summer with nurukan, approximately same as body temperature and really good sake can taste great."

Hope more people enjoy authentic "Dojo nabe" and feel the atmosphere of Edo period.

あ、初「世界のやまちゃん」もサイコーでした！

老舗でなくても美味しいものがたくさんあるのだ。

I went to "Sekai no Yama-chan - Yamachan of the world" for the first time and love their yummy fried wings a lot!

夜の水族館 - Night at the aquarium

葛西臨海水族園はお盆の時期に20:00まで開園時間延長。
ちょっとの差でクマノミの孵化シーンを見逃して残念だったけど、
夜の水族館を大満喫！
タコには、心臓が３つあるのかー。
流されないようにサンゴの枝を口にくわえて寝てる小さな魚の姿に癒されたなぁ。
マグロたちも元気に泳いでましたよ。
ファインスポッテッドジョーフィッシュ達が健気に巣穴づくりする姿が本当にラブリーで。
暗くなった後でも、巣穴に潜って出てきては口から砂をどぇーっと出すの見せてくれました♡

We went to Tokyo Sea Life Park last week and it opened until 20:00, later than usual.
We didn't make it on time to watch clownfish hatching but still enjoyed a lot the aquarium until night.
We learned an octopus has 3 hearts and watched curiously a small fish sleeping with holding a small branch of coral in its mouth. 
It looked the tunas were in good shape and swimming in circumferential direction as before.
We love Finespotted Jawfishes, working hard to make their nests.  They are so cute!  Even after the aquarium became dark, they showed us their expertise as a house maker in the sea.  It's so funny when they spat out sands from their big mouth.
