2015年初折り紙会 - 1st Origami Session in 2015

I 初の折り紙会のテーマは今年の干支、ひつじ。
これが意外と仕上げが難しくて、

「豚になっちゃった」「犬になった！」羊が続々誕生。

年明け早々の1月から心痛むニュースが本当に多いですが、
こういう平和で、クスっとなっちゃうことこそが

たくさん発信される世の中になると良いなぁ、と思います。

The theme of our first Origami session this year as "Sheep" - 2015 is the Year of the "Sheep" in Chinese astrology. We Japanese still think much of Eto(Chinese astrological calendar).
Well, we had difficulties to finish our works was Sheep but they rather looked like pigs or dogs...
Our hearts are aching for several shocking news this January.　I pray that Goto-san can come back home safely.
I hope we can find our world filled with much more innocent and peaceful news on the media and they can make us smile.

居心地の良いお店 - Cozy places

友人と会社帰り新年会。

初台商店街にも、素敵なお店がありました。
気の利いたおつまみや食事、スイーツもお酒も楽しめる

居心地良いカフェ＆バー「NABE」。
自家製ジンジャーエールからBioワインもありで

飲み物も充実してます。 

ギャラリーにもなっていてアートも鑑賞できるし、

ハイスペックのスピーカーから流れる音楽にも癒されます。
(その日はクラシック。「ジャズに変えましょうか？」と

マスターが気軽に声を掛けてくれました。)
アート×音楽のコンセプトで、アーティストを招いて

いろいろなイベントもやっているそうです。

窓の外は、昔ながらの小さな商店街の街並み、っていうのも、

ほっこりしちゃいます。
オペラシティ内のカフェより断然オススメです！

こういう素敵なお店は広く紹介したいのですが、

写真を撮らない時もあるし、
なかなか全てブログに書くこともできず・・・
iPhoneからちゃっちゃっとUpするより、

PCの大きな画面で写真や文章を少しは吟味しつつ、

キーボードから入力するのが好きですし。

今後も、時間がある時に幾つか書いて、

公開予約して行くスタイルになると思います。

おいしいもの備忘録2014　Memo 2014

☆カジュアルながら、お通しからして味のレベル高し！＠Kitchen 428(荒木町)

花びらみたいなチーズ(テットドモアンヌ)は、専用のカッターで薄―く削り出すのです。

ぶ厚いと美味しくないそう。味はパルミジャーノレッジャーノに独特の香りが加わったみたいなカンジでした。

☆銀座のドイツ料理のお店で、チェリーのビール。これならビール苦手な私でも！

☆目黒で、イタリアンオムレツ。

An special omelet @ a Italian restaurant in Meguro.

I had a new year get together with my friend after work.
We found a café bar, "NABE" in Hatsudai where nice meals, side dishes, sweets and drinks including alcohol are served.
We enjoyed glasses of bio wine, hot wine and homemade ginger ale.
It's also an art gallery and the classic music from hi-spec speaker is really comfortable to our ears.
(The master kindly asked us “Would you like Jazz instead of classic?” but we chose the classic music.)
This café’s concept is to enjoy music and art at the same time in the cozy ambiance.
Outside of the window is the view of old fashioned small shopping street, not modern Tokyo at all, but which got our heats warm.
I recommend this café than any others in Tokyo Opera City!

Well, I want to introduce all the nice cafés/restaurants in my blog but sometimes it’s difficult.
There are occasions I won’t take any pics and the time flies away to write everything.
I’m not good at using iPhone to write my blog because I’d rather take some time to choose my photos & write the texts using my notebook PC & keyboard.
So I will continue to write several articles at the same time when I am free in advance and they are on the web when a reservation time comes.

アートに見い出したい未来 - to be wide-eyed in front of art

So depressed by the shocking tragic news of the terrorists’ attacks in France & suicide bombings by little girls in Nigeria.
I am afraid there are many places in the world where people have to endure such events by terrorism and disputes in their reality and cruel sights are not rare in front of them.
What makes difference specifically between them? - People who are saved by a religion / People who are scarified in the name of a religion.
Does it only depend on the circumstances we are raised in?

When I am feeling blue, I go to an art museum.
In front of exquisite arts, I can still believe in the brighter side of mankind; prospect and creativity for better world.

I went to 17th DOMANI：The Art of Tomorrow Exhibition @ the national art center, Tokyo.
It is very interesting and impressive beyond my expectation.

フランスでの連続テロ、ナイジェリアでの女児を使った自爆テロ、
信じたくない悲惨なニュースが報じられています。
でも、普段、我々のメディアに流れていないだけで、
このようなテロ行為や紛争が今も現実に目の前にあるところが
世界にはたくさんあるのだ、と思う。
宗教で救われるひと、宗教の名のもとの犠牲になるひと。
生まれ育った環境で全ては決まってしまうのだろうか。

こんな気持ちになった日は、絵を見に行きます。
素晴らしいアートの前では、我々ヒトの善き面‐良い方向に進む可能性や創造性を信じることができるから。

国立新美術館のDomani展。これが、期待していた以上にかなり良かった！です。新しい日本人アーティスト達に感じる可能性のある未来。とても全て紹介できませんが。。。

このキャプションにとても惹かれました。作品も素敵。

たくさんの写真を重ねてひとりの人物像が浮き上がる写真アート。

これは、広島での原爆慰霊の灯篭流しのセレモニーに出席した人達39人の顔を重ね合せたもの。

他にも印象的だったのは、

天安門広場の兵士

(24人分の顔。浮かび上がったひとつの顔は優しくて気高い感じがしました。)

2003年3月8日東京で5万人が参加した米英軍のイラク攻撃反対のデモ隊

(30人分の顔。ひとつになった顔には激しい怒りというより悲しみを感じました。)

Art with a plurality of photo layers stacked into one face from many pics of someone's face in a crowd. 

 The layered face is not real one but expressing a typical metaphor of the people gathering there.

This photo is from 39 pics taken on a Peace Memorial Day when many paper lanterns were put on the river for the atomic-bombing victims in Hiroshima.

I was also impressed by a shot of 24 soldiers at Tiananmen Square, Beijing in China 

– I saw the layered face looked very gentle & noble. 

A shot of 30 marchers at "World Peace Now" in Tokyo , the demonstration protesting the US-UK attacks against Iraq on March 8, 2003. was also nice. 

 – I say, the one face coming to the surface of this pic is with sorrows rather than strong anger.

ポップで繊細な現代風浮世絵スタイルのエッチング作品も素敵でした。

I like also her modern Ukiyo-e style by new etching method.   

この日は珍しく空いていたブラッスリー ポール・ボキューズでランチもできました。

I enjoyed lunch @ Paul Bocuse. I was surprised to find the restaurant was not crowded at all on that day. 

初夢は? - Hatsuyume 2015

年末、2015年に向けての新しい抱負も決め
今迄のいろいろな出会いや身近な人達に感謝して、健やかに、しなやかに、
新たな扉を開きながら進んでいきたいな、と思います。

今年も寝る前に「一富士、二鷹、三茄子」と念じて寝てみましたが、

初夢に見たような見なかったような。。。そこで、新春2015素朴な疑問。

其の１ - 初夢っていつ見れば良いのであろうか？
毎年思いながらも調べてなかった。
（1）正月元日の夜に見る夢？
（2）正月2日の夜に見る夢？
広辞苑、大辞林によると、

「初夢」とは「元日の夜見る夢、また正月2日の夜に見る夢」だそうです。
どっちでも良いのかー。となるとチャンスは少なくとも2回あるわけですな。

其の２ - 「一富士、二鷹、三茄子」は何故おめでたい？ なんで、ナス？？？
江戸時代からのことわざみたいだけど、どうして縁起が良いのかは諸説ある模様。
(語呂も良かったので今に至るまで残ったちゃった？)
昔、初夢に富士山を見た年には、
①富士登山を経験し
(トイレで初夢の話してたら、別の同僚からその場で「決定！」と富士登山隊に入れられ)、
②帝国ホテル「富士の間」で開催の大規模セミナーの責任者になったことがあり

(CEO来日でかなり気を使った。。。)。
あれ？何だか幸運だったというより大変だったような気もいたしまする。

I decided my objectives in 2015 at the last year end and want to open the doors in front of me with flexible mind & without prejudice.
It's thanks to people I met & things I experienced that I have come this far.

In Japan, they said it’s a good omen if your Hatsuyume (the first dream in the New Year) is a dream about those objects; 1st "Mt. Fuji", 2nd "a hawk" and 3rd "an eggplant".

This belief has been in Japan since the Edo period. I am not sure why those of three, especially “eggplant” are presenting good luck and which night we should have “Hatsuyume”, on January 1st or 2nd?

I found there are many opinions about the origins of “Hatsuyume” idea and either January 1st or 2nd would be fine for the timing. -So you can have 2nd chance if you can’t dream of them on the New Year night.

In the year when I dreamed about Mt. Fuji in my “Hatsuyume” before, I actually climbed up Mr. Fuji (one of my colleagues scouted me for a team of Mr. Fuji climbers in the restroom when I was talking about my “Hatsuyume”)
And I was in charge of organizing a big seminar inviting many guests and our CEO from NY at “Mr. Fuji room” of the Imperial Hotel.
I am not sure but it was a rather busy year than I had expected as lucky one…

破魔矢の原型、矢守は、あの平賀源内さんが神社に売り込んだものだそうです。

土用のウナギの日といい、すごいマーケティングプランナーぶり。

“Hamaya” is an arrow-shaped good luck charm. 

 It is said to ward off evil spirits and bring in happiness. 　

Hamaya is sold at the shrine during the New Year's holidays.

遅ればせながら、明けましておめでとうございます。

フランスのテロ事件に心が凍る年明けとなってしまいましたが
平和で明るい一年となりますように。


We are very shocked by the terrorists’attacks in France and I extend my heartfelt condolence to the victims and their families.

May there be peace among all mankind on Earth.
Best wishes for a happy and peaceful new year, may 2015 bring brighter days to everybody!
