ルーヴル美術館展で発見！ - Discovery at La Méditerranée dans les collections du Louvre

ルーヴル美術館所蔵の有名な古代彫刻と言えば、

私にとってはミロのビーナスにサモトラケのニケで、

ギャビーのディアナ(アルテミス)のことは知らず

(昔、行った際に見逃していたということですな)

今回初対面となりました。

狩猟と純潔を司る女神だけあって、

そのたたずまいはひたすら端正で美しいのでした。

この展覧会は地中海をテーマに歴史的背景、

文明ごとの彫刻や工芸品がメイン。

一番の発見は、ラーメンどんぶりやチャーハンのお皿のふちに

描かれているあの「四角い渦巻」模様は、

紀元前500年頃のアテネで使われていた高坏やら、

水瓶に描かれていた！ということ。

えーっ！！ 中国が独自のデザインかと思いきや。

世界はその遠い昔から東西つながっているのですね。

The most remarkable ancient marble statues in the Louvre museum for me were the famous “Venus de Milo” & “Nike of Samothrace”.  This is the first time to see the masterpiece “Artemis dite Diane de Gabies”. - I suppose I missed the beautiful goddess when I visited the Louvre before.

She is so beautiful and has exquisite figure of Artemis, the Hellenic goddess of the hunt & virginity.

This exhibition is featuring histories & civilizations around the Mediterranean area with a lot of sculptures & craft products. 

I found a pattern; “box-shaped scroll” on a stylish pedestaled bowl or vessels of Athens around BC500!!  Which I had thought the origin came from China as it is a typical pattern on the rim of ramen bowls or plates for Chinese food such as fried rice in Japan…

The world has been connecting from Far West to Far East from long long time ago.
