サクラ咲いてます - Sakura blossoms began to bloom

東京の開花宣言の前の日にもかかわらず、新宿中央公園の一部のソメイヨシノ（？）がかなり咲いてます！気の早い奴ってどこにでもいるもの。

I found several cherry trees just began to bloom in the Shinjuku Central Park, prior to the official announcement in Tokyo.  In Japan, we will try to check the official announcement whether the cherry trees are in bloom in your region.

万世橋今昔物語 – Old & New Mansebashi

(今頃、思い出して書いてますが)

何やら旧万世橋駅が面白いことになっているということで、 

ようやく先月半ばにマーチエキュート神田万世橋に行ってきました。
こういう歴史ある古き施設を生かしたリノベーション大賛成！です。（今は役目を終えたトンネルの中とか高架下って、それだけで特別感を感じるのは私だけ？）
ミシュランガイド東京2014に「ビブグルマン-1人5000円以下でおいしく食事ができる店」として紹介された初のラーメン屋さん「むぎとオリーブ」2号店にて定番の蛤SOBAでお腹も満たし、まずは大満足。(ハマグリもたくさん入ってましたー。香り良い中華そば系のすっきりしたスープ美味しかった♡これは何回でも食べたくなります。特製小麦麺も食感があって食べごたえ◎　お店もラーメン店に見えないお洒落さです。 )
日本の地方の物産や工芸を今風なセレクトショップで売っていたり、昔の万世橋駅のジオラマや限定グッズもなかなか良いカンジ。
北欧雑貨やインテリアショップにはちょっと、「ここでなくても良いような？」という感想は持ちますが、全体がなかなかにお洒落です。
昔の名残の幾重にも続くアーチを見ながら縦長の店内を歩くのも、楽しいもの。
電車がすぐ側を通り抜けるというカフェバー N3331を次回はチャレンンジしてみたいです。
センス良いお花屋さんやワインショップなども遅い時間まで空いているのも魅力的。
淡路町から来る道すがら、あの有名なお蕎麦屋さん「神田まつや」、その近くに気になるおしゃれな伝統工芸ショップ「SIOYA」も発見したし、この界隈をゆっくり散策するのも楽しそう！

One day in the middle of last month, I visited “march-ecute Kanda Mansebashi”, renovated from an old “Mansebashi station” that is no longer used.
I love the concept to create something new from old architectures while respecting the merits of their historical backgrounds and aging ambiance.
I found “march-ecute Kanda Mansebashi” is the modern shopping complex with unique select shops and cafes.
At first, I enjoyed “Clam noodle” at “Mugito Olive” – their first shop in Ginza was introduced as Bib Gourmand on Tokyo Michelin Guide 2014. – Any ramen shop have never been selected by Michelin guide before.
I should try an unique café; N3331 next time. 

On my way from Awajicho station, I found a famous Soba restaurant “Kanda Matsuya” and fancy shop “SIOYA”, selling Japanese traditional commodities and interior goods.
It would be nice to explore this area on another occasion again.

古き良きものを新しく知る - Newly find good old things

I joined an event “Some no Komichi – fabric dyeing annual festival” in Nakai, Shinjuku ward on March 1st.
To my surprise, the Nakai/Ochiai area is one of the centers of traditional dyeing industry in Japan where fine craftsmanship still survives in the middle of Tokyo.
Until the 1960’s, they washed newly dyed long clothes in the small river running through the towns.
I live in Shinjuku but didn’t know about this traditional craftsmanship. How nice if we could newly find something old & precious around us like this.
In spite of a cold rain, we enjoyed exploring the small town, visiting some ateliers & shops along the river and joining a special workshop – we dyed ”Tenugui; Japanese towel” by ourselves!
We had chances to watch some craftsmen dying in various ways just in front of us and talk with them closely. Their stories were very impressive and their fine works were so fascinated.
Also we enjoyed to see some of the shops were decorated with specially produced “Noren – the dyed small curtain-like fabric that you often see hanging in front of the entrances to Japanese houses, restaurants & shops selling traditional goods”.
We watched many ladies wearing a beautiful kimono in a stylish way and they looked so cool! I love the modern kimono style in Taisho/early Showa period a lot.

3月頭に、「染の小道」というイベントに参加。
ご近所でもある新宿区の中井／落合エリアが染物の伝統の技が今も息づく街として有名だとは知りませんでした。
60年代迄は、街の真ん中を走る川で染めた生地を実際洗い流していたそうです。
古の伝統が、実は身近な小さな街に生き続けていることを知るって、とても素敵な体験。
寒い雨降りではありましたが、小さな川沿いのお店やアトリエを探索、てぬぐいの絞り染め体験、と大いに楽しみました！
実際、目の前でいろいろな技法で染物をされる職人さん達の技を拝見してお話しする機会もあったのですが、お話もとても興味深く、その技も本当に素晴らしいものでした。

毎年「染の小道」用に特別に染めて制作されるという“のれん”が店先や軒先を飾ってあるのも楽しかったです。

来年もこのイベントに行きたいなぁ。
着物をイマドキに着こなした女性も街中にたくさんいて、すごくカッコよかったー！！ 大正・昭和初期風のモダン着物姿にあこがれます♡

カレーと漆のうつわの日 - A Curry & Lacquer-ware Day

1月のとある日に半休取って、ランチメイトと神保町ボンディ本店で
カレーデー(古書店センターの２Fにあります)。
前菜として(?)、蒸かしたジャガイモが2個／ひとり が出てきます。
おいもをバターと塩でいただいているうちに、
カレーとゴハンが到着します。
私は初ボンディ以来ずっと、「あさり」中辛。
あさりがそれはもう、たっぷり入っているのです。
最近、ゴハンの盛りとその上にトッピングチーズされている
チーズの量は控え目になった気はいたしまする。
(だって、もっと若かった頃にあんなにお腹いっぱいなっていたのに、
今はそこまでではない気がするから。
もし、量が変わってないとしたらこの自分が恐ろしい)
One day in January, I & one of my lunch mates took a half day off and went to “Bondy”, a curry shop in Jinbo-cho.
I love this curry shop and always chose medium-spicy clam curry ever since my first try.
They are serving 2 potatoes as appetizer(?) per 1 person and then the curry & rice with a topping of cheese are served.
(Too much? Of course, you should get full but I feel OK for this volume now, than when I was more young so they must have reduced the volume a bit.)

Then we found an amazing antique & variety shop in the same building on the 5th floor.

Where we had a very good time to look for something fancy among so many awesome things in that shop, enjoying the conversation between a nice lady, the shopkeeper.
Finally I got 5 small dishes of Urushi(lacquer ware) produced in Japan around in 1960 with incredible reasonable price.
My colleague bought 3 lovely things she liked at first sight.
We definitely want to visit there again!


大満足で１Fまで降りたらエレベーターホールに貼ってあった
「きのこ」という文字のポスターに目を奪われた我々。
その足でエレベーターに戻って5Fのお店へ。
そこには、何とも素敵なアンティークショップというか
雑貨屋さんと言うか、とにかく、
お楽しみいっぱいのお店でした！

これまた素敵な女主人さんとの会話も楽しい、
ドキドキするものがいっぱい詰まった空間でした。
「きのこ」のことはすっかり忘れ、
ドーパミンが出てしまった私達は、
それぞれ一目ぼれしたものをお買い上げ。
私は昭和30年代の漆器の小皿5枚（「4枚分の値段でいいや」と
大いにまけていただき）。
ランチメイトはぎっくり腰を忘れたかように
華麗に店内を動き回って、３つもお気に入りを発見、
大満足でお買い上げ。
会社に出勤するために店を出ないといけない我々は、
最後、本当に後ろ髪をひかれる思いでした。
またお邪魔します！

蕾もほころび始めました - begin to bloom

梅が春を告げる一番乗りの花とは言われますが
3月に入って通勤途中の公園でも梅が綺麗に咲いています。
It's March but still cold in Tokyo.  They said the plum-tree is the first  tree to blossom in Japan and I enjoy to see plum blossoms are in bloom now at the park on my way to the office.

これは花屋さんで買った早咲きの山桜。
部屋に一足お先に春がやってきています。
I bought cherry branches at a flower shop and it's an early-blooming cherry tree, beginning to be in full bloom. - Spring has come in my room!

新しいブログ - A new blog

書きたいことはいろいろあれど、忙しくてアップデートができてません。。。
クレイクラフト用の新しいブログのPC版のベースが何とかできあがりました！
久々にHTMLやCSSやらで、疲れました。。。
ロゴについては知り合いのデザイナーさんに作ってもらうのだ。楽しみ♪

I have been away from this blog as I have a lot of things to create a new blog for clay crafts, while many things I want to update here.
I feel sick with HTML/CSS related now but anyway I could make the very first base of my new blog design at last.  As for the logo, I put a tentative one right now but will ask an graphic designer I got to know recently to make a fabulous one!
